TWILIGHT !! ♥
Greetings my fellow Twilighters!
Are you a self-confessed addict of the Twilight series by the ever-so-awesome Stephenie Meyer? Do you read the books obsessively? Are you anxiously awaiting the release of the Twilight Movie on December 11th? Are your favourite websites www.twilightthemovie.com and www.stepheniemeyer.com? If you answer Yes to any of those questions, then this is the place for you. If you have no idea what we are talking about, read on, people.
Feel free to leave a comment and discuss anything you want to do with Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. We want to know what you’ve read, what’s happened, where you’re up to, who you love, who you hate, your favourite book, what previews of the movie you’ve seen, how long you have spent on the Twilight – The Movie website… you get the picture.
Anyone who hasn’t read Twilight – don’t feel left out! We’ll be happy to let you know about the books, and even happier for you to read them. But beware, the book is a romance/vampire book, if you are uncomfortable with that then you will just have to cope with your non-Twilightness. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey Twilighters!
Here’s a book review on a trilogy you might like to read one day.
Title: His Dark Materials trilogy: Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass
Author: Phillip Pullman
Genre: Fantasy
Rating: ***** (5 star)
Age: Mature themes, at least age ten.
The His Dark Materials trilogy is a fascinating, complicated series about Lyra and her companion Will travelling through different universes. These books are quite hard to read and contain many difficult concepts and words. They contain many elements of physics, philosophy, theology and spirituality. The movie ‘The Golden Compass’ was based on the first book in the series, Northern Lights.
The first book, Northern Lights, is set in one universe similar to our own in many ways. All the people have daemons (pronounced ‘demons’) that accompany them through their life. These daemons are like a part of their soul, are usually the opposite gender of the person, and take the form of an animal. Before the child reaches puberty the daemon can change its form freely, after that the daemon takes the form that is usually most similar to the personality of the human. While living their everyday life at Jordan College, Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon learn the existence of Dust, a strange elementary particle that appears less attracted to the innocence of children before reaching puberty, from her uncle Lord Asriel (who is soon revealed as Lyra’s father). The Magisterium believes this elementary particle to be the evidence of original sin. When Roger, Lyra’s friend from the kitchens at Jordan, gets taken by the ‘Gobblers’, Lyra and Pantalaimon embark on a dangerous adventure to rescue him.
The second book is The Subtle Knife, in which Lyra goes through the Aurora to Citagazze, a strange city where the inhabitants have found paths into different universe. Lyra and Pantalaimon meet Will, a boy from our own world who discovered a ‘window’ into Citagazze. This otherworldly city has used the technology of cutting windows into worlds recklessly, therefore releasing soul-eating Spectres which, like Dust, are not attracted to the innocent souls of children. Will becomes the bearer of the Subtle Knife, an amazing knife where one edge can cut through any matter, and the other can cut windows into different universes. Lyra and Will set out on an adventure to find Will’s long lost father but end up uncovering many more mysteries.
The third book, The Amber Spyglass, tells of Lyra’s kidnapping by her mother Mrs Coulter who is an agent for the Magisterium. Mrs Coulter has learned of the prophecy identifying Lyra as the next Eve. The Magisterium wishes to kill Lyra before she commits original sin. Will’s Subtle Knife breaks and the bear Iorek Byrnison repairs it. This story travels between many different universes, including an island called the Land of the Dead where all lost souls go. Lyra finds her friend Roger there and promises to help all the souls who are stuck on the island. An enormous battle is to be fought, with Lord Asriel’s army against the Spectres. They aim to destroy the Authority who is Christianity’s God. This story is the completion of the series.
I think this trilogy is absolutely amazing. It is very addicting and Phillip Pullmans writing is exceptional. Warning: It has an extremely complicated storyline and the books are very long. If you are a persistent reader and are at least ten years old, I strongly recommend this series to you.

I love Twilight and it’s other books in the series. One bad thing I thought in New Moon is that there was a large part of the book didn’t have Edward.

Chloe, I completely agree, but I still think New Moon was possibly still better than Twilight, because I read it so fast the Non-Edward part was over pretty quick. How sad was the Volturi bit!?

I also agree it was like a part of the book was missing without Edward but I loved it how Jacob and Bella became best friends. I’m a 1/4 of the way through Breaking Dawn and it is really good. I hope that Stephenie Meyer releases Midnight Sun because it would be great reading it from his perspective. Jade110

My fave quote from the whole series is the last line from Breaking Dawn, the fourth book:
“And then we continued blissfully into this small but perfect piece of our forever.”
♥ I LOVE IT!! ♥

Hey guess what people I FINISHED THE FIRST TWILIGHT BOOK. I finally got it off my sister

Twilight is really awesome because of the way the story is set. Reading the book makes you think that you are really experiencing it or there. Bella is probably my favourite character, she only just bet Edward though. I like the part of Bella trying to choose between Edward and Jacob but I think that she will always pick Edward. I love every part of the book. To answer Sophie’s question ‘How sad was the Volturi bit?’ I think that it is really sad. It is really upset me that part. I love the everything about the Twilight Saga.

I really want to read “New Moon” but I’m not allowed.
on November 19th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
OMIGOSH Jade you are 100% right, River Flows in You is not the official Bella’s Lullaby! GAH! I’m almost crying! RIVER FLOWS IN YOU IS BELLA’S LULLABY!
Waaaaaahh!
*sobs*
What are we going to do! It’s too late to complain, the movie is done… nooooo… Twilight is partially ruined…
*sniffle*
Maybe we could get the DVD and somehow load it onto our computers and replace the sound in that scene with River Flows in You. Hah. Impossible.
Anyway, I am currently re-reading Eclipse and I will be writing a book report on it.
BREAKING DAWN IS THE BESTEST EVER BOOK IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD !!
Love you all my Twilighters,
Soph

Hey Livi
You came to the right place for info on Twilight!
It’s a fantasy/teenage fiction book by Stephenie Meyer. Isabella Swan moves to the small rainy town of Forks and meets the mysterious Edward Cullen who she later finds out is a vampire. Now the vampires in the story aren’t like the ones you think – they don’t have fangs, or sleep in coffins, or anything like that. They all have pale white skin and are incredibly good looking, haha. Edward’s family have chosen to eat animals rather than hunt humans. Bella falls in love with Edward, putting herself and the others around her in more danger than she realises. Of course, Edward loves Bella too. When a different group of vampires visit Forks and catch Bella’s scent, trouble begins.
That’s only the first book in the series!
Hope I helped and possibly made others want to read these AMAZING books. Also if you are after some pictures from the movie I could email you some. When you are obsessed like me and the other Twilighters you generally spend alot of time getting pictures, music, and anything else to do with Twilight. Hehe…

I think that Livi Twilight is a really good book. It has bits and pieces about everything. I like the way everything is described. You really think you’re there. Also, everything in the book is easy to follow. That is a bit about the writing of the book.
The actual book is awesome.

Yeah, the book is written really well! Stephenie Meyer is the most descriptive writer ever! My auntie was talking about how well it is written the other day, yes, I put her onto the series too…
It really does draw you into the story. It actually feels like the characters are real! WHY CAN’T THEY BE REAL!! Having the movie doesn’t help, especially because Robert Pattinson (Edward) is exactly how I pictured Edward. Grrrr.
I can’t wait for the movie! It’s out in America NOW!
For everyone else, make sure you visit Stephenie Meyer’s website and the Twilight movie website. When I first heard of the book, they are the first places I went, and they convinced me to get these books and read them. I would like to sincerely thank those websites for that! Where would I be without these books!
